What is the concept for further development and maintenance of the LCI part of the ELCD database?
The ELCD database will be further developed according to the needs for additional core LCI data and by striving towards reliance primarily industry based LCI data. European business associations are explicitly encouraged to develop / provide LCI data to the ELCD database. In parallel, the preparation of European guidelines related to future collection, compilation, and review of inventory data in close cooperation with industry associations will take place. These will be used to help further harmonise and expand the database contents. Maintenance is initially foreseen by the Commission service DG JRC, IES.
