What is the compression rate* used for the MP3 files?
Older MP3 files on Bluetracks.ca have a compression rate of 128kbps (kilobytes per second) whereas more recent files have a 192 kbps rate compression. When we started Bluetracks in 2004, our concern was to maximise your MP3 player’s stocking capacity as well as minimise your download time. Since both MP3 players’ capacities and Internet connection speeds have both increased rapidly since that time, all new files uploaded since the beginning of 2007 have the higher compression rate of 192 kbps.
