What is the competency matrix that is used in the Competencies Program?
The matrix consists of five levels of competencies with behavioral measures for each competency. The competencies chosen mirror those in the Staff Review and Development Plan and all contribute to the achievement of the organization’s strategic business objectives. The University’s core values of customer service, diversity and quality are woven throughout the matrix as well. The competencies build in a logical, measurable manner from one level to another. The five competencies measured are Effective Knowledge, Accountability & Self- Management, Teamwork & Leadership, Communication and Innovation & Problem-Solving.
