What is the Communicative Method?
This methodology is not a formal thesis but rather a series of idea developed in 60’s Europe about language acquisition. The idea is that language happens spontaneously and teachers should be overly concerned with errors but rather gaps in communication. Classes taught using this method use a lot of slang, idioms, and everyday speech. Emphasis is placed on oral communication although reading and writing is taught as well. The students are asked to pose questions and be inquisitive.
