What is the communication between school and home besides conferences?
A. The district provides a web page called Parent Portal which can be accessed by Parent Portal tab at the top of the is website. Parent Portal is a wonderful place to find information on how your child is doing in class. Parent Portal also includes: mail, child nutrition balance, schedule, attendance, reports, health, behavior, and more. Teachers are readily available via e-mail and often by phone before and after school. Teachers are more than willing to schedule additional meetings/conferences if needed. Further, there are school letters, newsletters and an IBMYP newsletter. Parents of Application MYP students who fall below the IBMYP academic requirements for any quarter also receive a letter that simply lets the parent know their student’s status in the program. Finally, contact directly with the teachers is easily accomplished through their individual websites or their phone or email. You may arrange individual or team conferences when necessary for you and your student.
