The League Of Women Voters is much as its name suggests–it is a nonpartisan grassroots political organization originally started to help women exercise their new right to vote around 1920. Actually, the LWV ahas allowed men in its membership since 1973. The LWV does its work through education and advocacy (you might see LWV pamphlets around election time) and some lobbying.
