What is the common writing system in India?

0

India is the only country in the world which has 27 official regional languages and more than 100 dialects. So we do not have a common writing system. Most of the north Indian languages use alphabet based on Devanagari script with punctuation marks borrowed from English. South Indian languages like Tamil use Tamil script which is totally different. Northeast states like Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim have Tibetan as one of the languages which uses Tibetan scrip, a part of the Brhmic family. In Manipur, Meitei is spoken which is writen using Meitei Mayek. The list can go on but I think got the picture. Those who have answered like Devanagari script etc. do not comprehend the diverseness of the country. But Hindi is the national language of the country and Sanskrit is as obsolete from daily usage as Latin is in Europe, As for the schools are concerned, each state has state boards which offer courses up to 12th or even higher in their regional language while central board schools use Hindi
