What is the Common Implementation Strategy?
The Common Implementation Strategy (CIS) was established in 2001 to provide common understanding and guidance on the implementation of the Directive. The CIS is achieved through a number of working groups involving representatives from the European Commission, Member States, accession countries and other organisations having a particular interest in the Directive.
