What is the Collaboration Agreement?

0

A. The Collaboration Agreement is a communication form that allows the Home School teacher to specify exactly what level of control s/he wishes to maintain over the curriculum while the student is at OMS. It covers responsibilities for aspects of teaching such as creating assignments and worksheets, providing quizzes, tests and mid term exams, lab work and grading. After more than 15 years of running this program, OMS has recommendations for what balance of responsibility works well to ensure that each student is taught material at the same level of detail and to the same standards as his/her peers at home; but there is no “right way” to do this. OMS teachers/tutors will collaborate in whatever way the Home School teacher wishes. This may require OMS to develop a curriculum which meets the learning objectives and standards of the Home School teacher, or it may mean simply administering, reviewing and returning assignments, tests and quizzes as prepared by the Home School teacher.
