What is the Clubs philosophy?

• We exist for the benefit of all children, and we want them to have fun. • All players are encouraged to play to the best of their ability through positive reinforcement. • Recreational Teams – Every child gets equal playing time regardless of ability. The only exception to this philosophy is that if your child does not attend team practices at least once a week, he/she will play in every game, but will not be subject to the equal playing time requirement. • Travel Teams – Due to the competitive nature of the Travel Program, every child plays in every game, but equal playing time is not a Travel Team requirement.

Edina Volleyball Association believes in promoting the sport of volleyball, and promoting life skills through the sport of volleyball. Among the many life skills learned through sports, and in participating with our club, are learning the values of prioritizing schedules, working together toward common goals, working hard for group and individual success, along with respect, honesty, and integrity toward others and themselves. Participation in Junior Olympic volleyball requires a high level of commitment of time, body, and mind. We believe that this commitment has its place among priorities. Family, faith, and school (including school sports) come first, followed by volleyball. Players and parents will be expected to make every effort to schedule their priorities so that they avoid as much conflict with their volleyball practice and playing commitment as possible.

The Club mission statement contains the following; “To encourage excellence and high standards of conduct in all aspects of life through the instruction and application of competitive soccer.” What this means for the Club member is that the Club is aware of the affect our representatives have on the lives of the children you have entrusted to us. The Club strives to find coaches for our teams that have not only the soccer skills and background necessary to train our players but those who also have demonstrated a high level of standard in all aspects of life. We are not only looking for coaches but also ROLE MODELS for our players.

This club will prepare you for competitive high school lacrosse and possibly playing in college. The player on gets out of the club what he/she puts into it. The club is a commitment, but not the only thing you do. The club emphasizes learning and coaching through competitive play in tournaments and games. The player, however, must be properly prepared to play and understand the team playing philosophy.
