What is the climate of Mexico?
The climate in Mexico varies from tropical to desert. High,Rugged Mountains;high plateaus;desert.The Tropic of Cancer divides Mexico into the temperate and tropical zones. North of the 24th parallel has cooler temperatures in the winter, south of it the temperatures remain fairly constant year round. The coastal plains are normally hot and humid. Higher elevations are drier. There is 200+ inches of rain in the tropical zones. The northern zones are desert-like. The higher elevations have a median temperature ranging from 24 to 28º C, the lower elevations are slightly cooler, 20 to 24º C. In altitudes above 2,000 m, they range from 16 to 18ºC, with cooler temperatures at night, year round.
