What Is The Climate Of Belgium Like?
The climate of Belgium is a temperate, maritime climate. Its climate is mainly influenced by the air masses that blow into the country from the Atlantic Ocean. The weather in Belgium during the winter varies considerably because of the frequent and rapid changes in the movements of different masses of air. These air masses are separated by fronts. The conditions caused by the formation and movement of the fronts that bifurcate the masses of air from the west to the east produce heavy and frequent rainfall. The annual rainfall, on an average, measures approximately 30 to 40 inches (or about 750 to 1, 000 millimetres). Winters are damp and cool, and there are frequent fogs as well.
