The Mechanical Code says that the Clearance of Oval B Vent shall be that space provided by the Fire-Stop Spacers, Ceiling Plate Spacers, and Fire-Stop Spacers furnished with the gas vent used. 4″ and 5″ Oval B Vent can be installed in a 2″ x 4″ wall and 6″ Oval B Vent can only be installed in a 2″ x 6″ wall.
