It is the process that gives you the flexibility to choose your surgeon and technology. The out of pocket cost associated may be similar to the total expense of the Warfighter Laser Surgery Center process. You must get permission from your supervisor, UDM, squadron commander, 56 MDG commander, and the AF Refractive Surgery Registry before proceeding with civilian surgery.
