What is the City of Dallas doing to be environmentally friendly?
Dallas leads the way in the “green movement,” recently becoming the first city in the U.S. to earn ISO 14001 certification across all of its major operations. (ISO 14001 is an international environmental standard, which sets goals for organizations and communities to exceed environmental compliance and continually improve and reduce the impact of their operations on the environment.) New environmentally-oriented city ordinances call for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified commercial and residential buildings, and key venues like the Dallas Convention Center and the Trinity River Audubon Center are leading the way in the effort.
