What is the Citizens’ Regional Health Assembly?

0

The Citizens’ Regional Health Assembly is a two-day event to learn about our health care system and recommend a long-term vision for improving health care and health outcomes in South East Ontario. It brings together fifty-four randomly selected citizens from across the region to work alongside twenty health care practitioners as well as members of the LHIN board. Assembly members will work together to learn about the region’s health care system and the challenges it faces. As a provincial agency with responsibility for monitoring and improving health care in the region, the South East LHIN is mandated to work with both the health care community and with citizens to set priorities for improving health care. We believe that the Citizens’ Assembly model is a powerful way to put citizens and medical practitioners in the driver’s seat. The results of this process will inform how the South East LHIN works to improve health care and health outcomes in the South East Region.
