What is the CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY Program?
The Stafford Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Police Academy (Stafford CPA) was formed in 2001. The program was designed to enhance citizens’ understanding of the functions and services of the Sheriff’s Office. For 11 weeks, participants get an inside look at the daily operations, and the “Hows and Whys” of police work. Graduates of the CPA act as advocates to promote community policing. The Stafford Sheriff’s Office has a tradition of problem oriented and community policing. We continually strive to develop innovative ways for community involvement. The CPA helps build a partnership between law enforcement and the citizens of the county. What are the membership requirements? • Must be a resident of Stafford County • Must pass a required Background Check Interested?
