What is the CIBC Run for Our Lives?
CIBC Run for Our Lives (the Run) is an annual fundraiser held the first Sunday in October to raise money in support of breast cancer awareness, prevention and treatment. (Some communities choose to hold their Run on a slightly different date.) A route is mapped out for participants to walk or run the distance with which they are comfortable. The Run is a home-grown event, making it possible to allow northerners to control how funds raised by the people of the Northwest Territories will be invested in support of breast cancer and breast health programs, services and equipment needed in the NWT. CIBC Run for Our Lives also provides funding for research in the hope that some day a cure will be found.
