What is the Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan?
A. The proposed Gaylord resort in Chula Vista would serve as the centerpiece of the 560-acre Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan, a joint planning effort of the San Diego Unified Port District and the City of Chula Vista. The Master Plan calls for the transformation of the citys former industrial waterfront to a world-class destination where people can live, work, play and visit — a vision that has been dreamed of by local residents for more than 20 years. The proposed Gaylord resort in Chula Vista would help to make the revitalization of the bayfront a reality by providing the tax revenues needed to create public parks, nature and wildlife preserves, hiking and bike trails, and other recreational facilities.
