What is the Childrens Crusade?
The Children’s Crusade is a widespread story that began around 1212. There are various amounts of manners, in which the story is told throughout different countries and cultures, but all of the stories are mainly about young, innocent boys who are deprived of their rights. The tale begins with a young male, named Stephen de Cloyes; he was believed to have resided in France or Germany claiming that he has had visions of Jesus. Visions that tell him his destiny is to lead the next Crusade. As a result, the boy begins preaching around his rural areas gathering thousands of vulnerable children to join him in his religious expedition. Foolishly, the gathered children travel abroad the sea hoping to reach their destination Jerusalem, where they will attempt to free the holy land. They wanted to get back the Holy Land for the religion of the New Testament.
