What is the Child Support Scheme?
The new Child Support Scheme aims to better balance the interests of both parents and be more focused on the needs and costs of raising children. This aims to reduce conflict between parents about parenting arrangements, encourage shared parental responsibility, and ensure child support is paid in full and on time. Customers with children from a previous relationship are required to apply for child support if they wish to receive Family Tax Benefit Part A at more than the base rate.
