What is the cheapest way of creating colourful and showy hanging baskets this summer?
I have a mixture of hardy & wild strawberry plants, mint & thyme in hanging baskets. All of which were transplanted from cuttings. Depending on how far into the summer, the colours vary. Beginning of Summer, buds, obviously :o) then into white & green then at the end of summer & well into autumn, the vivid red of the fruit, the white of the continuous flowering and mint has a lovely lilac coloured flower, toward the end of the season. The best bonus…….they are perennials! So cut back in late autumn & wait for late spring/early summer for t he magic to begin again!! OH – and the free, home grown, delicious food cannot be beaten!
