What is the Chase For The Sprint Cup?
The top 10 drivers in points (or any driver within 400 points of the leader after race No. 26) qualify for the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and have their point totals reset after the September race at Richmond, which is the 26th race of the season. The 10-race Chase begins at New Hampshire; the last race will be at Homestead. Races will be scored the same way they were scored the rest of the year, except drivers outside the top 10 are not eligible to win the championship. The driver within the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup who has the most points after the Homestead will be the champion.
