After the batteries have reached full capacity, the charging current drops to a low current to optimize the battery performance. This low current allows you to leave the batteries in the charger (once charging is complete), without ever damaging them. The internal circuitry makes Monster’s Digital Charger a “Smart Charger” because the circuitry can recognize and deliver the amount of charge the batteries need. This prevents overcharging and undercharging of the PowerCells, and results in longer battery life.
