What is the Character Counts Program?

0

Our school counselor, Mrs. Coppola, has developed the Character Counts Program at At. Augustin. If a St. Augustin student is seen displaying exceptional character during class time, recess, lunch, or before or after school, a St. Augustin teacher or staff member may give that student a Character Counts Card. Any time a student in Kindergarten or 1st Grade receives a Character Counts Card, he or she should return the card to his or her classroom teacher. The teacher will then collect each student’s cards. Any time a student in 3rd Grade and above receives a Character Counts Card, that student will be responsible for keeping his or her cards in a safe place. At the end of each month, Mrs. Coppola will go into each classroom with Character Counts Rewards. It is at this time that students may redeem their cards for tangible and non-tangible items (see attached menu of items). Students may redeem their cards each month or may let their cards accumulate to “purchase” a “more expensive” menu
