If a machine were built that could attempt to recover the single key out of all of the possible 128-bit keys, it is estimated that it would take the machine approximately 149 trillion years to crack a single 128-bit AES key (National Institute of Standards & Technology). To put that into perspective, the universe is believed to be less than 20 billion years old.
