What is the Certification Review Committee (CRC)?
The CRC is comprised of three (3) individuals currently employed at the CJA. The individuals chosen to sit on the review panel are randomly selected from various departments at the CJA, and will have no knowledge of the specific issues involved in the case prior to the commencement of the administrative appeal. They will be looking at your case with fresh eyes and ears. CJA General Counsel, Brandy Duncan, will be present on behalf of the CJA Director and his decision to deem the officer ineligible. She will have the ability to ask questions, and receive questions from all parties involved in the appeal hearing. Ms. Duncan is not a member of the CRC and will not have any input in the CRC’s final decision beyond the evidence she presents during the hearing.
