What is the central idea of aquinas philosophy?

In terms of ways of knowing which is my thing, Aquinas believed that for the knowledge of any truth man requires divine inspiration. This is a somewhat Aristotelian outlook. Aquinas can be seen as responsible in a large part for the integration of Greek philosophy into Catholic-thinking. For instance the Catholic dogma of transubstantiation as an explanation for real presence was expounded by Aquinas and integrates Aristotelian theories on ‘substance’ and ‘accidence’. Aquinas’ theories on knowledge are at odds with later Positivist and Post-Modernist outlooks.
