What is the Central Carleton Rec. Plex Project?
This facility will be the focal point for all recreational activities from hockey to wellness activities that will cater to all ages of the population (youth to senior). It will replace an aging ice arena that currently services the Town of Hartland and surrounding local service districts. Benefits that the Central Carleton Rec. Plex will bring to the area are 1) increase in our user groups due to new development within our community (new hospital and new school); 2) increase in community partners (business community; federal and provincial governments; LSDs; 3) provide a safer place for the youth and adults to come and participate in recreational opportunities; 4) increase our hosting opportunities for recreational; agricultural; business and educational events that will help bring people into the town; 5) provide an energy efficient building that will benefit the tax payers in the long run and help reduce the financial burden on the tax payers.
