What is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Environmental Public Health Tracking (EHPT) program, and how does it fit into the EH Knowledge Management Project?
The EHPT program is defined by the CDC as the “ongoing, collection, integration, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of data about environmental hazards, human exposure to environmental hazards, and human health effects potentially related to exposure to environmental hazards.” This project is evaluating the potential for making linkages between health effects and environmental health hazard data. At this time, an EHPT program does not exist in Minnesota, and MDH is conducting early planning meetings with local public health and others to apply for federal funding.
