laidir means strong i know this for sure as it forms part of the motto of my great grandmothers family the O’ Briens the whole motto being the strong hand uppermost and to you all know something apart from wales who speak welsh, gealic is the language spoken of the other two major countries of the british isles ireland and scotland it is just different dialects if you spoke one you could probably pick the other one up pretty easily and some of the words have the same or similiar meaning
