What Is The Cause Of Sleepwalking?
Sleepwalking is a sleep disorder known as somnambulism which was traditionally believed to be a cause of an underlying psychological condition. In recent times it has been seen that sleepwalking is a sign of biological disorder and in some cases a psychological disorder as well, that causes the body’s physiological system to activate at times when the body is not in an awakened state. It has been observed that people who are depressed or are under stress and are unable to live an uninhibited life could develop sleepwalking problems. Contrary to the popular myth that sleepwalkers should not be disturbed when they walk in their sleep as several accidents could be caused which could endanger the life of the sleepwalker. Sleepwalking can be cured with the help of medication as well as counseling; the phenomenon has been observed in people of all ages though children and young adults are believed to be more susceptible to it.
