What is the cause of most motorcycle accident deaths?
The vast majority of motorcycle accident deaths are directly related to head and brain injuries. Even if death doesn’t result from brain or head trauma, the motorcycle riders often have a limited mobility or reduced motor or mental skills as a direct result of their serious motorcycle head injuries. To combat this statistic, California has enacted laws which mandate that all motorcycle riders and their passengers must wear full helmets, however some motorcycle riders fail to obey these rules and only wear novelty helmets which appear to satisfy the law, but fail to meet the required Department of Transportation safety requirements. These novelty helmets would therefore not provide any protection in the event of a motorcycle accident.
