One that I am aware of [told by a Forensic Chemist friend] is that Ammonia is an intermediate byproduct of the decomposition [normal breakdown] of Urine. With time and the right conditions, the Ammonia will biodegrade into Nitrogen and Hydrogen, and I think, Methane.
