(03/22/10) WEST ISLIP – Police are investigating Monday the death of an All-County soccer player from West Islip. Officials say Alexis Pilkington was a senior at West Islip High School and a starter on the girl’s soccer team. She was set to play soccer at Dowling College. Police say there is no word on how she died. Crisis counselors are at the school talking to students and staff.

Yes Alexis Pilkington’s death was a suicide. She has tragically committed suicide in her families home yesterday. This is not speculation, rather her own father’s words, as he desperately hopes this tragedy may help some other young person reach out for help. Nobody knows what’s going on Alexis Pilkington’s mind that caused her to commit suicide.
