What is the cause of a bacterial infection?
Any number of things, using anything other than water to wash with (soaps, washes, bubble bath, sprays, talcs, ‘feminine’ washes, douches, etc.) as chemicals can interfere with vaginal pH leading to imbalance in vaginal flora – same goes for commercial sanitary products due to chemicals used, tampons are also a major cause of vaginal infections as they encourage bacterial growth and prevent vaginal cleaning. Sex as semen is a different pH to the vagina so can throw bacteria off balance, also certain lubricants, or food during sex play. Not cleaning or drying yourself fully, staying dry by wearing clothing that allows your vulva to breathe (no synthetics, jeans, thongs, etc.) or sitting all day allowing that area to get warm and moist. Or sometimes infections like that can just happen…there are too many reasons to list them all, also bare in mind that something could cause an imbalance in your vaginal flora without you realising it, then days or weeks later something else could come a
