What is the Castor Oil for ?

The Castor Oil is used to lubricate the engine – the internals of the engine get to around 200 degrees – the castor oil will not burn at this temperature and all of the oil comes out the exhaust – this is quite normal. The oil can be cleaned off with warm soapy water – do not get it on the radio gear or inside the engine. If the engine has not been used for a while the oil residue will make the engine difficult to turn over – put some fuel down the glow plug hole and turn it over a few times to loosen it up. An after-run oil can be used to stop this problem. Synthetic oils do not have these problems but the engine will not last as long.
