What is the career progression for positions in the ELPA and ELFA Programs?
Candidates are typically hired into the ELPA or ELFA Programs at the GS-7 level. After completion of one year of service as a GS-7, the ELPA/ELFA is eligible for promotion to the GS-9 level. Following completion of one year as a GS-9, the ELPA/ELFA is eligible for promotion to the GS-11 level, which is the full performance level of the position. Promotion is based on performance and supervisory recommendation. The pay for each location is different and can be found on the OPM pay tables.
