What is the capstone project and internship?
The capstone project is a scholarly project, three semesters in length, designed to address significant practice issues that affect a specific patient population, health care organization, or health system. Students work with a faculty advisory committee, including their preceptor, to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate a scholarly clinical product. The capstone project can be completed at the site of your capstone internship. The 400 hour capstone internship is designed to provide a two semester clinical leadership practicum, a significant component of which is the implementation and evaluation of the capstone project as well as a population-focused direct clinical care component.
