What is the Canine Good Citizen Test?
The American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen Program is a friendly, non-competitive, and casual evaluation that rewards pet dogs that act mannerly at home and in the community. All dogs that pass the CGC test receive an official certificate from the American Kennel Club and are automatically recorded in the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Archive. All tests are performed on leash. Owners may talk to their dogs throughout the test.
