What is the Canadian Red Cross position on war and conflict?
The Red Cross refrains from commenting on the arguments for or against a conflict. The Red Cross concerns are from a humanitarian viewpoint, in line with our mandate under international humanitarian law (IHL) and guided by the seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Movement. The Principle of Neutrality states that in order to continue to enjoy the confidence of all, the Movement may not take sides in hostilities or engage at any time in controversies of a political, racial, religious or ideological nature.
