What is the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)?
The CAHSEE is an examination that students in California public high schools are required to pass in order to graduate and receive their diploma. Students are tested in English Language Arts (including critical reading and an essay) and Mathematics. Students will take the CAHSEE for the first time in the spring of their sophomore year. Once a student passes, he or she does not have to retest. If a student does not pass one or both parts the first time, he or she will have the opportunity to retest multiple times before graduation.
