What is the CAE examination?
This is an examination at an advanced level. It is a suitable examination for people who require English for professional or academic purposes. It is also recognised by many British universities as an English Language entrance requirement. There are five parts to the CAE. Reading and Writing papers: Reading skills are assessed by the ability to read and understand texts taken from magazines, newspapers, leaflets, and other authentic type material. The three main task types are: multiple matching, multiple choice and gap filling (at paragraph level). Candidates are expected to complete non-specialist writing tasks in response to the stimuli provided (input text and task descriptions). Again, authentic type texts, such as articles, leaflets, notices, formal and informal letters, are used for this part.
