What is the Buddhist “Bible”?
There’s no “Bible” in Buddhism as such. There is the Tipitaka (or Tripitaka, depending on tradition). This consists of Suttas, the monastic rules (called the Vinaya Pitaka), and the “theory” of Buddhism, if you will (called the Abhidhamma Pitaka). If you want to take an in depth look at the main beliefs of Buddhism, you could look at Accesstoinsight.org. It’s a website dedicated to Theravadin Buddhism. It has translations of the various Suttas, as well as the monastic rules. There are also various essays and commentaries written by monks of various schools of the Theravadin tradition.
