Explorers participate in: police related training, explorer competitions, ride-a-longs with police personnel, community service events, and field trips. Who can participate? All participants must meet the following requirements: • Be between 14-19 years of age • In good standing at home, school, and in the community • Able to pass a background investigation When and Where do the Explorers meet? The Brea Police Department Explorer Post conducts meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Explorers gather in the open parking lot on the west side of the police department off of Randolph, just south of Birch. Schedule April 6, 2010 – Criminal Law / Search Warrants April 20, 2010 – Arrest and Control Techniques May 4, 2010 – Domestic Violence Investigation May 18, 2010 – Searches and Handcuffing June 1, 2010 – Traffic Collision Investigation June 15
