What is the Board of Adjustment (BOA)?
The Board of Adjustment serves the purpose of hearing appeals to the Zoning Ordinance. The Board reviews the application and carries the authority to either grant or deny applications for variances, special exceptions, and appeals of administrative decisions. The Board consists of five members serving a five-year term. Three alternates are also chosen who also serve a five-year term. Members of the Board must be residents of Salt Lake City.
