What is the Blue Collar Jobs Training Program?
The Blue Collar Jobs Training program provides funds for training that specifically fosters career development and promotional potential in State employees at pay grades 10 and below. This group of employees generally includes those in the paraprofessional, office and clerical, skilled craft, and service maintenance job categories. (Employees at higher grades may be considered under special circumstances with approval of the Blue Collar Committee.). Blue Collar funding can also be used for training employees in occupations that are becoming obsolete through the increased use of technology. In addition, special funding is provided for adult literacy, G.E.D., and High School Diploma programs. Please contact Michele Marinucci for more information about the special funding. Who can apply for these funds? State agencies and training organizations who want to provide training for the targeted employees can apply for Blue Collar funding. To do so, they must submit a Request for Proposal (RFP)
