What is the Blood Libel Database Project?
It is a growing collection of primary documentation and English translations of blood libel and other allegations. I have broken the corpus of allegation material down further into allegations of plain murder, mutilation murder, crucifixion murder and blood libel to gain greater clarity and understanding of the allegations. It is my contention that the historiographical record has been damaged and distorted as a result of grouping the entirety of the allegations under one such heading (Blood Libel) or worse still ‘Ritual Murder’. The Blood Libel does represent the pinnacle of the formulation of these allegations, accurately reflects the libellous nature of the charge and is suitably short in serving as a domain name.
