Answer Hi Salem In Kenya today, we are on the verge of being totally modernised, and most cultural values are only held dear by those born before independence. One is the birthing process. Traditionally, there were certain foods pregnant women were not supposed to eat so as to protect the unborn baby. Nowadays, we eat what the dotor orders. We’re less conscious of taboos and beliefs concering pregnancy, such as what to do or how to behave. And besides, traditionally, African societies did not have much time for women, so there weren’t really that many rituals associated with birthing. However, at birth, there were usually five ululations for boys and four or three for girls, that’s how the people would know the gender of the newborn.
