What is the BillingTracker Multi-User Server?
The BillingTracker Multi-User Server is a small module (with a big name!) that regulates access to your data file, when you are working in multi-user mode – e.g. when several people in an office are sharing the same accounting data. It works with BillingTracker Pro only – not BillingTracker Standard. You install the server software, tell it where the data file is, and then add users. For each user, you simply define the name, a password, and give that user his/her permission level. The server and the data file can be on separate computers, the same computer, or even on the same computer as one of the BillingTracker Pro users. Permission levels are very straightforward: * Timekeeper – User can only ENTER and CHANGE/EDIT his own hours and ENTER his own expenses. User CANNOT view most screens, and thus has no ability to see the firm’s finances. * Basic – User can only ENTER his own work on his own projects only.
